EIA: US Retail Regular Gasoline Average Drops to 39Wk Low
OAKHURST, N.J. (DTN) --- The national average for retail regular gasoline
tumbled 4.7cts to $3.097 gallon as of Monday (10/28), the lowest level since
the week ended Jan. 29 and 37.6cts lower than the same week in 2023, according
to the latest data from the Energy Information Administration.
Prices declined across the major PADDs, with the sharpest loss in the
Midwest PADD 2 at 8.3cts on the week. At $2.923 gallon, the PADD 2 price marked
the lowest in 38 weeks.
At the Gulf Coast PADD 3, the average for retail regular gasoline slid
7.4cts to $2.646 gallon, a 45-week low while the Rocky Mountain PADD 4 price
fell 2.3cts to a 32-week low $3.198 gallon.
EIA reports the West Coast PADD 5 price dropped 6.1cts to a 39-week low
$3.973 gallon and the East Coast PADD 1 price eased 0.9cts to $3.045 gallon.
