Baker Hughes: US Oil Rig Count Up 1, NatGas Down 2 on Week


   
    

   OAKHURST, N.J. (DTN) --- The number of rigs in the United States actively 
drilling for oil ticked higher again this week, rising by one to 482 as of 
today, down 20 compared with the corresponding week in 2023, the latest Baker 
Hughes data show.

   Baker reports the number of U.S. natural gas rigs in operation continued 
lower, down by two to 99 on the week, 19 below a year ago.

   In Canada, Baker Hughes data show the number of oil rigs in operation 
decreased by one to 153 while the natural gas count was down one to 64 as of 
today. Data show the oil rig count is 32 more than the same week in 2023 while 
the gas rig count is down by 13 versus year earlier.
