CEC: Refiners Ramped Up Calif. RFG Output over 5% Last Week OAKHURST, N.J. (DTN) --- Production of California mandated reformulated gasoline increased 5.9% in the week ended Sept. 20, the bulk of the weekly gain reported by refiners in the southern part of the state, according to the latest data from the California Energy Commission. CEC's Weekly Fuels Report shows total CARB RFG output rose 280,000 bbl to 5.013 million bbl last week, 20.3% below a year ago. Southern California refiners boosted production by 262,000 bbl while production at northern facilities gained 18,000 bbl in the week profiled. Statewide CARB RFG supply added 11,000 bbl to 5.092 million bbl as of Sept. 20, 13.5% lower than stocks held during the corresponding week a year ago. Inventory at northern area storage facilities increased 64,000 bbl while supply at southern sites fell 53,000 bbl last week. Overall production of the for-export gasoline eroded further, down 118,000 bbl to 632,000 bbl on the week and inventory added 62,000 bbl to 1.065 million bbl. CEC reports statewide supply of gasoline blending components continued lower through Sept. 20, falling 250,000 bbl to 4.189 million bbl, 16.1% below the same week in 2023.
